Parsons Paris & inma

In the Spring of 2018, Parsons Paris and Institut National des Métiers d’Art (INMA) launched a unique artistic collaboration entitled Hand  in Hand Made that brought together, for the first time, senior fashion design students and INMA Paris-based craft experts.

Under the creative direction of Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman, students were able to integrate the rare know-how of some of the best artisans and designers in France in their contemporary thesis collections.

Laia Varela collaborated with the student Charlotte Nord for her collection “The unimaginable”, creating 7 jewelry masks in bronze.

A photography exhibition documenting the collaboration was presented on May 16, 2018 at Elysée Montmartre in Paris and selected pieces from the collaboration were exhibited at the Parsons Benefit in New York on May 21, 2018.

From September 26 to October 30, an exhibition was displayed at the INMA Gallery in Paris, showing the creations of the INMA Experts and Parsons Paris Fashion Design students, as well as previously unseen images from the collaboration.
